This is a photo taken by JD45. It shows the carriage which supports the
K-13 Compensating Site and a Browning .50 caliber MG.
The Bakelite handles are part of the E-13 adapter, at the rear. The adapter
has a large dovetail slot which accepts the K-13 site.

This
is the ID plate on the back of the E-13 adapter which was manufactured by the
John C. Turner Corporation under license of Bell Aircraft. The
Manual says Sperry, the company which made, among other things, the ball
turrets for both the B-17 and B-24.
Gunner on the B-24L. On this model the belly turret was removed and a single
Browning .50 was installed on a ball mount. The belly turret returned on the
B-24M.
